Support the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity with Brick Fanatics

Brick Fanatics is launching a fundraiser for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity, our charity partner for 2022-23.

Based in Cardiff, Wales, the charity aims to provide the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales with specialist equipment, facilities and family support services.

Brick Fanatics is aiming to raise £5,000 for the charity’s Jungle Ward appeal, and we have kicked off the fundraiser by donating £500. The Jungle Ward appeal is a £1m campaign to transform a ward into an inclusive, stimulating environment that also provides the highest levels of care and space for families to be together while a child is in hospital. For example, a one-off donation of £15 can fund a pack of essentials for the parent of a child admitted in an emergency, while £42 can fund the hospital’s Beads of Courage programme, which gives a child on the renal ward a keepsake with their name spelled out in beads. A new glass bead is added after every operation, x-ray, injection or bout of chemotherapy. A combined £5,000 raised by Brick Fanatics readers would mean significant extra care and support for the staff and patients at the hospital as part of the Jungle Ward appeal.

Among the other initiatives spearheaded by the charity is the Tiny Lives appeal, which raised £1m to fund specialist clinical equipment for a 50-cot intensive care unit and the Splish Splash Splosh campaign that raised £500,000 for a hydrotherapy pool for use by the physiotherapy team to provide support and relief to children with a range of conditions.

The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity also supports young people in mental health crises, including ‘back on your feet’ packs that provide home comforts for children admitted to the hospital needing mental health support.

“We are proud to support the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity and help the excellent work they do,” Tiro Media director Tim Doel said. “The money raised by Brick Fanatics readers will go towards giving the children and their families the best possible care and support when they need it most.”

The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital is the only children’s hospital in Wales and treats 73,000 children a year. The charity was initially founded to raise funds for the building of the hospital, later moving to focus on fundraising for specialist equipment, facilities and support.
