The LEGO Group and LEGO Foundation are continuing to support families impacted coronavirus and have shared information on how they are doing so. In March, the LEGO Group and LEGO Foundation committed $50 million to help children and families who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Much of this work is through local community organisations providing essential services to families. This summary shared by the LEGO Group names some of the organisations involved and what they are doing for families: People in NeedCzech RepublicThis organisation is committed to combatting poverty and providing humanitarian aid to support families in the Czech Republic and around the world through the most difficult of times. DEIN MÜNCHENGermanyFounded on the principle that all children should have fair starting conditions - independent of their social background - DEIN MÜNCHEN offers needs-based programs to disadvantaged young people. These programs provide access to education, culture and sport, and promote positive development at key points in life. Through diverse projects, the young people experience an important increase of knowledge, skills and a healthy self-esteem. During the lockdown in Germany, many young people felt even more isolated and faced more daily problems so DEIN MÜNCHEN adapted its programs to run digitally. Funding from the LEGO Group helped with the setup of the online program and ensured over 500 vulnerable children could access the service and continue to feel valued and part of the community.
