Merlin\u2019s Magic Wand opened a new LEGO themed sensory garden at the Alexander Devine Children\u2019s Hospice in Maidenhead, UK. The charitable arm of Merlin Entertainments, the company behind the LEGOLAND theme parks, designed and created a special LEGO sensory garden for the Alexander Devine Children\u2019s Hospice in Maidenhead, UK. A special opening ceremony was held on March 20, with the final LEGO brick flowers put in place. The Royal Borough Observer reports that the garden will offer an interactive, safe sensory space for families at the recently opened hospice in Woodlands Park, Maidenhead. It features wheelchair friendly pathways, scented plants, herbs, a water feature and a storytelling area. LEGO models incorporated into the garden include robins, rabbits, butterflies, ladybirds and squirrels, along with a fairy village. \u201cIt is with the greatest of pleasure that we open our woodland themed sensory garden today with our wonderful friends at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and Merlin\u2019s Magic Wand. I can honestly say it is a fantastic friendship and we have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of working with them,\u201d said Fiona Devine, chief executive and co-founder of the Alexander Devine Children\u2019s Hospice Service. \u201cOur garden will bring many smiles and hours of fun to our children and their families, what greater gift to give.\u201d Attendees at the opening included the Royal Borough's mayor Cllr Paul Lion, Thomas Jellum and the chairman of Merlin Entertainments Sir John Sunderland.
