The next LEGO Ideas product idea to be announced for official release is Winnie the Pooh, inspired by a model that depicts Pooh’s house in the Hundred Acre Wood. LEGO Ideas Design Manager Samuel Johnson and Engagement Manager Hasan Jensen are streaming live from Billund, Denmark to announce the results of the latest LEGO Ideas review. Winnie the Pooh, designed by Ben Alder, has been announced as one of two sets that will be released from the selection that reached 10,000 votes. Winnie the Pooh was the second ever licence that the LEGO Group acquired following Star Wars, with LEGO DUPLO offering a range of Pooh products. This will be the first time that the character appears in traditional LEGO brick form. If the set does not deviate from the product idea, it will build Pooh’s house in the Hundred Acre Woods and include some of his friends. A second product idea has made the cut this time, with Medieval Blacksmith also confirmed for release. “I love Winnie the Pooh and remember my parents reading it to me as a child,” Ben told the LEGO Ideas team in an interview about the project. “I now read the same Winnie the Pooh stories to my children, so it is certainly something dear to my heart. I decided to make the set so that my children could bring to life our bedtime stories but never quite expected everyone to be so kind about it.” Based on past announcements, these sets can be expected to be released late this year or early next year. LEGO Ideas 21321 International Space Station was recently released exclusively at LEGO.com. The set will be followed later this year by the Playable Piano, Sesame Street and the Pirate Bay.
