The Batman deleted scene reveals the first look at a new Joker

A new deleted scene from The Batman has revealed the first full look at Barry Keoghan’s Joker, a likely candidate for a sequel villain.

The Batman has been available to watch in cinemas worldwide for a few weeks at the time of writing, and as part of the marketing campaign for the Caped Crusader’s latest film, the rataalada website, inspired by the events of the movie, has revealed a deleted scene for those who answer a series of riddles correctly.

The clip, which was uploaded to YouTube by IGN, features Batman meeting with Joker who is played by Barry Keoghan. The villain looks more disfigured than previous iterations and the transformation must have taken a fair amount of make-up behind the scenes.

While this is a deleted scene from The Batman, Joker is one of the most iconic villains for the hero and is a likely candidate should a sequel to The Batman be on the way, though this has yet to be confirmed. A spin-off series featuring Colin Farrell’s Penguin is rumoured for the future though.

The Batman received a full range of LEGO sets including one from Technic with all-new minifigures based on the movie. It might be that provided a sequel is on the table, the Joker will take centre stage in a future The Batman film which could mean a new minifigure based on Barry Keoghan’s iteration based on the fact that the first film had multiple LEGO models.

That’s only speculation for now, though reports from deadline state that The Batman made $296 million worldwide in one week, suggesting that it was popular enough for a sequel.
