The Great Big Brick Safari arrives at Paignton Zoo

BRICKLIVE’s Great Big Brick Safari exhibit has opened at Paignton Zoo in Paignton, UK.

Paignton Zoo, like many across the UK, has reopened for visitors after closing due to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions to limit its spread. As the zoo has reopened it has also launched the Great Big Brick Safari, a trail of LEGO animal sculptures for visitors to check out.

BRICKLIVE’s touring exhibition has brought 80 different animal models to the zoo, which will be in place until January 3 2021. A map will be available so that families can follow the LEGO animal trail.

Animals recreated in the brick include a life-sized lion, gorilla, hyenas, kangaroos and macaws. The elephant build weighs 1.2 tonnes and took more than nine weeks to put together with 149,000 bricks.

Unfortunately the interactive element has been removed, so children will have to take their inspiration home and start building after their visit.

Opening times are available at the Paignton Zoo website – entry to the Great Brick Safari is included in the admission price.
