The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part remains at the top of the UK box office

During its second weekend on release, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part held on to the UK box office’s number one spot.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part has been out for ten days now, and Screen Daily reports that it remained at the top of the UK box office during its second weekend on release. It took £2.5 million, putting it on £7.4 million in total. With a drop of almost 40%, that means it has only taken a third of what The LEGO Movie had taken at this point, which was £21.9 million.

In second place was Instant Family, the new Mark Wahlberg comedy, and the third place spot was taken by How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. In the USA, The LEGO Movie 2 dropped to second place, with Alita: Battle Angel taking the number one spot.

With the half term break coming up, Warner Bros. will be hoping that school holidays give The LEGO Movie 2 a boost in ticket sales.

Three new sets that will be released this summer were recently revealed – 70842 Emmet’s Triple-Decker Couch Mech, 70837 Shimmer & Shine Sparkle Spa and  70838 Queen Watevra’s ‘So-Not-Evil’ Space Palace.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is in cinemas now.
