The LEGO Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas arrive at The Savoy

To celebrate the holiday season, the LEGO Group has provided The Savoy’s Christmas decorations this year with the Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas.

The LEGO Group has teamed up with The Savoy hotel in London, UK, to provide Christmas decorations that will not be found anywhere else in the world. The Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas is inspired by Twelve Days of Christmas, with lines from the song re-imagined through the eyes of a child. Instead of Five Gold Rings and a Partridge in a Pear Tree, the builds include ‘Santa’s New Wheel’s and ‘a Dragon Shaped Christmas Tree’.

The models that make up the installation use 372,931 bricks and took 2,200 hours to complete. The ‘Dragon Shaped Christmas Tree’ uses 150,000 brick, weighs 430kg and took 600 hours of work. It is part of the Rebuild the World campaign, aiming to inspire creativity and encourage everyone to think about LEGO as a creative brand.

Visitors will first encounter ‘A Shark Land-Exploring’ in the hotel’s fountain, with the fishy fellow having come to London for a spot of sightseeing and to observe the hotel’s guests in their natural habitat. ‘A Princess Rocket Castle’ is flown by a space exploring princess who is travelling the galaxy in her rocket castle away from her happily ever after.

There is a hands-on opportunity as the Savoy allows visitors to get involved with the #BuildtoGive campaign, which sees the LEGO Group encouraging everyone to build a Christmas ornmanent as the company donates boxes to children within hospitals, children homes, or underserved communities this Christmas.

“We are excited to be partnering with The Savoy for this festive celebration. As part of our Rebuild the World campaign, this partnership is designed to inspire people of all ages to unleash their creativity and explore the limitlessness of their imagination through play. We hope that the Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas will truly inspire people to rebuild the importance of creativity this festive season,” says Nicola Morgan-Hulme, the LEGO Group’s Senior Brand Relations Manager, UK/Ireland.

“With their motto ‘Only the best is good enough’, The LEGO Group is the perfect partner for us as we gear up to a festive season here at The Savoy that will delight and inspire both our grown-up and little guests alike,” says Ian Kidd, Hotel Manager at The Savoy “We’ve been blown away by the incredible creativity and passion brought to the table by the LEGO brick designers so far and are excited to able reveal the decorations for all to enjoy.”

Special Build to Give workshops with LEGO Certified Professionals are available for children to register for on Sunday December 1, from 11.00am until 4.00pm, and Sunday December 15, from 11.00am until 4.00pm. Advance registration is required.
