This brilliant timeline traces 25 years of LEGO videogames

If you’ve ever wanted a visual representation of the history of LEGO videogames, just check out this awesome infographic from the LEGO Group.

The twisting, turning timeline traces all 25 years of LEGO videogames, from 1995’s Japan-exclusive LEGO Fun to Build through to 2020’s LEGO Unity Microgame. And it highlights plenty more along the way, including bestselling titles like LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and classic online Flash games like Junkbot.

The LEGO Group has created the timeline to celebrate a quarter of a century of LEGO gaming. It’s not the only way the company is celebrating its videogame history, though. This month also sees the launch of the Bits N’ Bricks podcast, which will take a deep dive into LEGO games past and present, digging up fascinating facts along the way.

Here’s a closer look at the timeline, which also highlights the games that will be discussed in the podcast:

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
