Two More LEGO Ideas Projects Hit 10K

More more projects have achieved 10,000 supporters over on LEGO Ideas and so move into the next LEGO Ideas Review. The first project is by LEGORanger16 and consists of a trio of vignettes which each celebrate the US National Park Service Centennial celebrations. Although very much focused towards US audiences they are fun little builds and not based on an IP which is refreshing. The second project to hit 10k is the Concorde Display Set by ABStract. This project recreates the iconic supersonic aircraft jointly created by UK and French airlines, which has since been retired. It’s strange shape has been created faithfully in LEGO and even includes a brick built engine.

The National Park Service Centennial and Concorde Display Set projects both join the 3rd 2015 Review Stage which also includes Jurassic Park Explorer, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Nautilus, Toyota Landcruiser 40 Series, Beatles Yellow Submarine, HMS Beagle, and Apollo 11 Saturn-V.

The Concorde look amazing but I think it needs to be about half the brick-count to stand a chance. National parks looks like people have voted for a concept rather than a specific build so the LEGO designers could really have a go at it and turn it into something interesting.

I like the Park Service one. It could definitely be used in conjunction with the City range. After all, we’ve had swamp police, so another branch of uniforms would fit nicely with what already exists out there in terms of playability.

Like the Concorde though would prefer its British airways markings, maybe this would be an option 🙂 Park Service… erm… needs work i think.. if that was the set as is it would be pretty horrible..
