The first of the VIP rewards will be an A3 poster of the Space Shuttle Discovery, but it’s not currently clear if this will be of the LEGO iteration or the actual 40-year-old spacecraft. Either way, it will set you back 750 points.
However, arguably the more exciting of the two will be an exclusive model of the Ulysses Space Probe, only available while stocks last, which probably won’t be long. The set will cost you 1,800 VIP points.
If you’re unaware, the Ulysses Space Probe was launched in 1990 and its primary mission was to examine the sun in an orbit around it, but until it was decommissioned in 2009, the craft also analysed several comets.
The Ulysses Space Probe was a joint venture between the European Space Agency and Canada’s National Research Council, the former of which also worked on the Hubble Space Telescope, one of the included models in 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery. The two might make for a great display on any shelf, but we’ll know for sure when pictures are available.
There’s no specific release date for these two VIP rewards but you can probably expect them to release around the same time as 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery on April 1. We’ll keep you updated if any pictures of the rewards appear or any other information regarding these exciting additions to the LEGO Group’s VIP rewards. In the meantime, you might want to stock on up points, a task which might not be too hard with all the new sets that have recently launched.
