The second film in phase six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fantastic Four, might be helmed by the director of WandaVision, a report suggests.
According to a new report from Deadline, talks are taking place for WandaVision director Matt Shakman to direct the upcoming Fantastic Four film, which will debut the superhero team in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Matt Shakman’s previous work also includes Game of Thrones, The Boys and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the relatively recent addition of WandaVision to that list means he’s now familiar with the superhero genre too.
These reports aren’t yet confirmed and they only disclose that talks are currently in place for this position, so keep that in mind. As we near D23, which is confirmed to reveal more of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s films and series, it may be that an official announcement for the crew behind Fantastic Four is coming soon, though there’s lots more we don’t yet know about the future phases of the MCU too.
D23 Expo 2022 takes place on September 9, though the news will kick off one day earlier thanks to the annual Disney+ Day showcase on September 8. You can find a full guide to the upcoming event by clicking here.
