Warner Bros. to ditch LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga developer?

Warner Bros. may be about to sell TT Games as the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga studio faces its latest potential hurdle in the game’s development.

Continuing the ongoing narrative of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, a rumour from the most recent episode of the Xbox Two Podcast is suggesting that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is considering selling off even more of their developer studios including TT Games, the team behind the numerous LEGO video games.

“This document I’ve got seems to suggest that among the studios potentially that they’re looking to spin off is NetherRealm and TT Games,” said Jez Corden from Windows Central, who is a host on the podcast.

“Now, don’t take that as evidence that Microsoft is going to acquire NetherRealm or Traveller’s Tales, because I have no information to suggest that they are right now personally. But I have heard that NetherRealm potentially could be up for sale. I have heard Traveller’s Tales potentially could be up for sale. And I do have a document to back up that evidence.”

At this time, you should still treat this as a rumour and there has been no confirmation from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment or TT Games to suggest that the sale is happening. If true though, its effect on the release of LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga will depend on if Warner Bros. is still interested in publishing the title or if there are existing contracts in place.
