WATCH: LEGO Marvel 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum’s hidden treat for Vikings fans

Attention, LEGO Vikings fans: we’re just days away from the launch of 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum, and the Marvel set should be on your list, too.

Picture, if you will, a Venn diagram with three circles. The first contains LEGO Marvel fans; the second encapsulates modular building collectors; and the third is comprised of LEGO fans with a penchant for all things historical (namely, Vikings). Seemingly distinct, these three circles all collide through the brand new 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum, a 2,708-piece rendition of Doctor Strange’s lair.

You only need to take a quick look at the three-storey building to see that it follows the design language of the Modular Buildings Collection, so that crossover isn’t exactly surprising. But to learn where LEGO Vikings fits into the picture, you’ll need to watch our latest video short, either below or over at our YouTube channel. (Trust us: it’s worth it.)

LEGO Sanctum Sanctorum has a treat for Viking collectors

76218 Sanctum Sanctorum launches August 1 for £214.99 / $249.99 / €249.99, and at that price should be pretty tempting for every segment of the demographic Venn diagram we described up top.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
