What to expect from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker saga at Gamescom

The wait is over as LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is set to receive a world premiere at Gamescom, but what can we expect from the reveal?

Geoff Keighley has announced that the upcoming Gamescom Opening Night Live event will be home to the first news drop for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga since its delay was confirmed.

Whilst this will undoubtedly come as good news to those waiting for the game since the debut at E3 2019, the exact details of what we can expect to see are being kept a surprise – all we have to go on is a single screenshot of Rey training on Ahch-To. With plenty to announce for the title, here’s what we think will feature in the world premiere.

Gameplay

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will retell the tale of all nine movies in the titular collection and with the provided image showing a scene from The Last Jedi, the gameplay seems like a must for the gaming showcase. Whether or not that means we’ll be walked through one of the levels or simply shown a variety of the features that players can expect to see upon release, it will at the very least be more than we’ve already seen in the trailers.

Characters

Nine movies mean a lot of characters from the light and dark sides of the force, as well as a selection coming in additional DLC. Thanks to an interview, we already know that at least 300 of the title’s 800 characters will be playable so there will undoubtedly be more than a few shown off at Opening Night Live. Expect iconic minifigures like Darth Vader and Rey but hopefully, more obscure members of the galaxy will also be brick-built.

Planets

Tatooine, The Death Star, Ajan Kloss. What do all of these locations have in common? They all feature in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The next generation of LEGO open worlds has been teased for the game but so far, we’ve only been given a few screenshots to show us what to expect from a galaxy far, far away. With Ahch-To already confirmed for the event, there will likely be quite a few others showcased too, ideally with more information on what this evolution will hold.

A release date

Possibly the most anticipated information from Opening Night Live is the reveal of a release date for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, whether it be in 2021, 2022 or beyond. No matter what happens on Wednesday, the wait for news on the latest LEGO game is almost over. Stay tuned to Brick Fanatics and we’ll let you know everything that’s announced.

i think the game should be released by the end of 2021 because its been long enough…if its any longer without a definite release date why dont you just add some dlc’s and just release the game first
