Star Wars Advent Calendars love to use new ships and vehicles from movies recently released. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story technically came out last year, but as it was released in December any models based on the movie were bumped to this year’s calendar. Like many of the mini-models, this is another example of fine execution using standard parts.

60155 City: Christmas tree

Christmas trees are consistently included in LEGO advent calendars on both the City and Friends sides of the aisle. In spite of that it still amazes me how regularly the LEGO Group messes up the top of these evergreens – they have literally done it better themselves and (spoiler alert) tomorrow Friends will do it better. There are a variety of pieces that can top these trees in a realistic fashion but this is not one of them. This is a poorly executed build.

41326 Friends: The Sleigh Train Continues

Thankfully the trend of these sleigh train cars getting smaller has reversed and this is the most useful wagon built thus far. Brown bars are great to have in abundance, and not just for practice lightsaber blades or magic wands.
