Zavvi is opening a pop-up LEGO store in the UK this Christmas

Zavvi is seeking ‘LEGO fanatics’ to staff a temporary pop-up LEGO store in Manchester’s Trafford Centre over the Christmas period.

The online-only retailer’s first physical location since being acquired by The Hut Group will open its doors on December 7, and it’s currently advertising for Sales Associates to staff the store. You can check out the full job description and requirements here, but being a LEGO enthusiast ‘would be advantageous’.

You’ll need to be able to work evenings and weekends, and if you’re successful, you’ll also need to be availabile on November 30 to take part in training ‘carried out by the team at [the LEGO Group]’ – which suggests this pop-up shop may have fairly close ties to the traditional LEGO Store shopping experience.

Details on what exactly will be sold in the pop-up Zavvi store are yet to be confirmed, but we’re expecting a range of products that marries up with its online LEGO selection – including any current discounts. Whether the limited-edition blue 77942 Fiat 500 will be part of that range is less certain, given the LEGO Group has already stated that its pilot program will end on November 30.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
