Bricks & Minifigs looking for ‘amicable resolution’ with Mansell family

But there's currently no end in sight for the ongoing dispute

Bricks & Minifigs looking for ‘amicable resolution’ with Mansell family

Bricks & Minifigs has doubled down on its commitment to resolving its ongoing issues with the Mansell family, as revealed in a new statement from the company.

The controversial dispute between Bricks & Minifigs (BAM) and Bryan Mansell has been rumbling on for over a month now, as we’ve extensively recapped right here. Now the latest chapter in the ongoing legal saga has emerged, with BAM issuing a new blog post on its position regarding what has become one of the most widely-discussed scandals in LEGO history.

BAM’s fresh statement says that the company is ‘determined to find amicable resolution with Mansell family’, reaffirming its commitment to resolving the dispute between both parties, subject to its own ongoing investigations.

“We understand why this story has stirred so much emotion, and we don’t take that lightly,” said Bricks & Minifigs CEO Ammon McNeff. “We also want to reinforce this is an isolated, unfortunate incident related to a single franchisee who did not obtain an approval for any consignment arrangement. It does not undermine the integrity of our more than 300 other independent and unrelated franchisees. Our goal has never changed: help make this family whole, enhance operational processes, and build a company our franchisees and customers can be proud of for years to come.”

The blog post goes onto to cover what we already know about the story so far, offering BAM’s take on the LEGO collection that was placed with the now-closed Salem, Oregon Bricks & Minifigs store back in 2023.

The statement also asserts BAM’s position that the ‘apparent underlying consignment arrangement for LEGO products is not part of the company’s business model, or authorized by the franchise agreements or operations manual.’

In addition, BAM’s latest blog post highlights its commitment to a number of internal reforms aimed at strengthening the company and its franchisees, such as more 'rigorous record keeping and inventory-management,' ‘absolute transparency in the buy, sell, and trade process,’ as well as ‘mandatory professional behaviour and de-escalation training,’ to name but a few.

BAM AND RECKLESS BEN FEATRED MIXED

Meanwhile, Bricks & Minifigs' lawsuit against RecklessBen, the YouTuber who brought the story to the attention of mainstream media, is moving to federal court after a state judge declined to sign a modified version of a temporary restraining order.
