More LEGO Star Wars figures we need after Boba Fett

One of the most promising LEGO Star Wars buildable figures so far has been revealed in 75455 Boba Fett, and hopefully there are many more to come.

The recently-revealed 75455 Boba Fett looks to be one of the best-executed LEGO Star Wars buildable figures to date. It uses 1,544 pieces to recreate every inch of the bounty hunter and will be released on August 1 for £149.99 / $169.99 / €169.99. Pre-orders are open now.

It's the latest and arguably the greatest in a fairly-sized line of LEGO Star Wars buildable figures, but none have looked quite as appealing as 75455 Boba Fett.

Once 75455 Boba Fett has been released later this year, here are five more characters we'd love to see get this treatment from across the Star Wars timelines.

Darth Vader

It almost goes without saying that Darth Vader would perfectly suit a buildable figure in this style. Picture a towering black sculpture with a cape defining the shape of the character, complete with a long red lightsaber, perhaps even with white bars running down the middle. This suggestion seems more like an inevitability considering that Darth Vader has received every other kind of sculpture model so far.

Din Djarin / The Mandalorian

Considering the consistent success of The Mandalorian, the LEGO Group can use 75455 Boba Fett as a foundation for a future The Mandalorian / Din Djarin figure. Drum-lacquered silver elements are probably too much to ask, but otherwise 75455 Boba Fett demonstrates that this character is entirely possible as a buildable figure.

IG-11 (and Grogu)

To pair with Din Djarin, you'd need to have Grogu, but the character's small stature means that he wouldn't make for a stunning standalone buildable figure. Instead, a smaller Grogu model in IG-11 as seen in the third season of The Mandalorian would rival the size of a Din Djarin buildable figure, and be easily modifiable into a standalone IG unit figure.

General Grievous

Following the older 10186 General Grievous from 2008, this new format of buildable figures seems like an ideal way to return to a General Grievous sculpture. The techniques and colours in that original figure are starting to show their age, and we'd love to see what the LEGO designers do with a similar brief nearly two decades later.

A Stormtrooper

Considering how iconic Stormtroopers have become in Star Wars and pop culture, you'd think that the troopers would have more than just a helmet when it comes to LEGO sculptures. A buildable figure for them in the same style as 75455 Boba Fett would do the iconic armoured figures justice, leaving room for fans to further customise the creation.

Commando Droid

Droids are ideally suited to buildable figures given their inherent robotic nature, lending themselves well to the shape of LEGO elements. Several droids could take the final spot in this list, but the lanky Commando Droids are our top pick. 75434 K-2SO has already proven the potential for slim-limbed droid figures, and Commando Droids have an interesting brown colour scheme compared to most other Star Wars droids.
