$1,000 LEGO Star Wars Death Star rumoured to launch next year

We may finally be about to hit a $1000 set in the form of an updated LEGO Star Wars Death Star model now rumoured for 2025.

Brace your bank account, what would undoubtedly be the ultimate LEGO Star Wars set is rumoured for 2025 as Instagram user fateful_04 claims that a $999.99 Death Star model will be released next October. Just in case you thought the rumoured MTT was the most exciting news of this evening – you’d be wrong. This user has a reliable track record but keep a pinch of salt handy just in case.

It seems likely now based on this latest rumour that the other recently reported huge LEGO Star Wars set won’t be the second Ultimate Collector Series model for 2025 after all. This rumoured $999.99 Death Star is a much more likely contender for that slot.

Previous LEGO Death Star sets – before the price increases – have only come up to $499.99 with 4,016 pieces at most. That puts this model somewhere in the 8,000-element range at least (or at least you’d hope so for nearly $1000).

Suffice it to say, this would be by far the biggest and most expensive LEGO Star Wars set of all time. Whether it will be a display-centric UCS model or have some kind of an interior has not been rumoured yet, though hopefully for the price it’s got everything you’d possibly want. Maybe don’t expect anything like LEGOLAND Windsor’s big Death Star build that was once on display though.

Stay tuned to Brick Fanatics for more updates on this rumour as they come and as a reminder, it is still only a rumour and should be taken with appropriate caution in case any details end up being inaccurate. Here’s what else is rumoured and confirmed for LEGO Star Wars next year.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
