In 10297 Boutique Hotel, the side of the building leading to the terrace features a notice board featuring all kinds of references to the history of the LEGO Modular Buildings Collection. These include an advert for the detective agency in 10246 Detective’s Office, a notice of boxing lessons for 10260 Downtown Diner and more.
However, two potential references on the poster may not only reference the past of the Modular Buildings Collection but also the future. The advertisement for the music hall and update to a restaurant’s rating could be referring to the music shop in 10255 Assembly Square and the restaurant notice to 10243 Parisian Restaurant, or they could be referencing something yet to come.
The 2023 modular building is rumoured to be 10312 Jazz Club & Pizzeria. Bearing in mind the saxophone player on the noticeboard, the music hall might be another name for the jazz club. That said, while the music shop in 10255 Assembly Square might be too small to fit a full audience, consider that the minifigure in the poster looks just like the owner complete with a smiling face. It could be that Andy Sax isn’t performing at his shop, but at another location on the street.
While the restaurant rating update could be an Easter egg to a future modular building, it seems just as likely that a Parisian restaurant would be more interested in advertising the quality of their service than a pizzeria, throwing some doubt into that potential tease too. There are plenty of possibilities, but keep in mind how long it usually takes to develop a LEGO set too.
Provided the reports are accurate, it may be that these are just coincidences and that the Easter eggs were decided on before the development of a 2023 modular building started. For now, we can’t be sure and with no official details for the future of the LEGO Modular Buildings Collection, it might be wise to avoid getting too far with any theories until we know more.
At the time of writing, no details for the 2023 modular building have been announced and as such, all information should be taken with a pinch of salt until officially confirmed.
