12 minifigures we want to see in the rumoured LEGO Spider-Verse series

A new series of LEGO Spider-Verse Collectible Minifigures is rumoured to be on the way in 2025, so here’s what the ideal line-up of 12 characters could look like…

Fresh reports from Instagram user a.clay.brick suggest that 2025’s third Collectible Minifigures series will be hooked to Sony’s Spider-Verse movies, and while it’s not clear yet whether that just means Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse or also Venom, Madame Web, Morbius and Kraven the Hunter, the safe money is surely on the two critically-acclaimed animated films.

With that in mind, here are our top picks for the 12 characters that could make up 71050 Spider-Verse (or whatever it ends up being called) if it really is on the cards for September 2025 as rumoured.

1 – Miles Morales

Across the Spider Verse Spider Man featured 1024x576

You can’t have a Spider-Verse series without Spider-Man, and given Miles Morales is the protagonist of these films, he’s obviously going to be number one on the list. This is a great chance to give us the most detailed Miles Morales minifigure to date, but it’ll be interesting to see how the LEGO Group takes advantage of the budget of Collectible Minifigures given Miles’ Spider-costume is relatively plain.

2 – Peter B. Parker

Peter B Parker Spider Verse 1024x506

The Spider-Verse series’ jaded Peter B. Parker plays hesitant mentor to Miles in the first movie and doting dad in the second, and it would be fun to see the Minifigures team lean into the latter. We’re picturing a fluffy pink dressing gown and a baby figure for Mayday Parker, complete with her Spider-hat.

3 – Miguel O’Hara

Spider Man 2099 Spider Verse 1024x576

As chief antagonist of Across the Spider-Verse and presumably a major figure in the upcoming third instalment, Miguel O’Hara feels like a shoe-in for 71050 Spider-Verse. We’re also long overdue a new Spider-Man 2099 minifigure – one that will hopefully improve on the previous version (which has plain arms and legs) while also knocking down its bloated aftermarket price.

4 – Gwen Stacy

Gwen Stacy Spider Verse 1024x683

Miles’ partner-in-crime-from-another-dimension is another easy win for a LEGO Spider-Verse Collectible Minifigures series, and an ideal opportunity for the team to push the boundaries of its printing capabilities. Pink and teal webbing inside Gwen Stacy’s hood and on her forearms would be excellent to see, while we’d also love to get some representation of her teal sneakers (because she also wears a relatively plain outfit otherwise).

5 – Jess Drew

Jess Drew Spider Verse 1024x425

One of the Spider-Society’s key figures, Jess Drew – or Spider-Woman – plays a pretty meaty role in Across the Spider-Verse, and offers a chance for the Minifigures team to finally plug a pretty significant gap in the spectrum of tiny plastic people: a pregnant woman. If they get it right here, the door would at last be open to a Padmé minifigure from Revenge of the Sith. A motorcycle in the box might be too much to ask for, though…

6 – Hobie Brown

Spider Punk Spider Verse 1024x429

One of two regional Spider-Men we’d love to see represented in 71050 Spider-Verse, Hobie Brown – or Spider-Punk – is one of the coolest character designs throughout both animated movies, and that’s really saying something. The LEGO Group already has mohawk and guitar elements, so this one would just need some killer printing to really sell it. Bonus points for an alternate unmasked head and hairpiece, but then we can say the same for all the Spider-People on this list.

7 – Pavitr Prabhakar

What if Spider-Man was Indian? That’s the question answered by Pavitr Prabhakar, a character who originally debuted in comic books in 2005 and made his first cinematic appearance in Across the Spider-Verse. His on-screen design could make for a really fun minifigure, from his bold and brilliant hair to his colourful costume – but it may all hinge on the team’s willingness to include a cloth piece around his waist.

8 – Peni Parker

It would require thinking a little outside the box on behalf of the design team, but we’d love to see Peni Parker make her way into this series somehow. Her SP//dr mech might be better suited to its own standalone set though, in which case we’d also happily accept new and improved versions of Spider-Man Noir or Spider-Ham with fresh prints. But rounding out the cast from the first movie would be ideal.

9 – The Spot

Moving on at last from heroes to villains (Miguel O’Hara notwithstanding), The Spot definitely deserves a spot (sorry not sorry) in 71050 Spider-Verse, not only for his contributions to the narrative but also his very cool character design. The Collectible Minifigures theme has the budget to allow for all-over body printing, which is the only way to properly do this outfit justice…

10 – Olivia Octavius

Olivia Octavius Spider Verse 1024x427

If the Spider-Verse Collectible Minifigures series draws on both movies so far – and it should – we can’t leave Olivia Octavius off the list. She’s one of the few classic Spider-villains to feature across the movies, so would broaden the series’ appeal to a wider Spider-audience, and she’s sufficiently different enough from previous Doc Ock designs to warrant a coveted slot in the 12-strong line-up.

11 – The Prowler

The Prowler Spider Verse 1024x512

Another dead cert for the series is surely The Prowler, or Miles’ Uncle Aaron, who plays a significant role in the first movie – and whose outfit will also come back into the mix in the third movie, based on the end of Across the Spider-Verse (even if Aaron isn’t the one actually wearing it). His mask and cape would translate really nicely to minifigure form, too.

12 – Kingpin

Kingpin Spider Verse 1024x512

An official LEGO Kingpin is long overdue at this point, but his inclusion in 71050 Spider-Verse would really rest on how the LEGO Group might approach his oversized stature. A brick-built figure or bigfig doesn’t seem like the kind of thing we’d typically get in a Collectible Minifigures series, but then 2025’s Formula 1 series is said to be breaking the mould with brick-built cars, so you never know what could happen.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
