LEGO Star Wars 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle review

75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle is a LEGO Star Wars set that will delight minifigure collectors and potentially underwhelm fans of big ships who’d prefer Ahsoka’s ship to have a little more meat on its bones.

75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle is a fairly basic build that eschews additional bells and whistles in favour of really nailing the ship’s rotating cockpit. While the set is disappointingly small compared with its source material, the real focus in this set is on the minifigures, and given the range of characters featured, this is no bad thing.

There is something to be said for doing one job, and doing it well. At a time when LEGO sets keep getting larger and more expensive, 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle keeps things simple and relatively small, with a 600-piece build that perfectly recreates its source material’s spinning cockpit, and does little else.

The T-6 Jedi Shuttle has appeared in various pieces of Star Wars media for a while, as a larger alternative to the Jedi Starfighter which can transport more than a single pilot and half a droid. The LEGO version of the shuttle is not that. This is a barebones LEGO starship, with room for a single minifigure in the cockpit, and nothing else.

While this restricts the ship’s usefulness as a backdrop for play, it does come with one significant advantage: a smaller set is relatively cheap. This is the most affordable of the LEGO Star Wars sets aimed to tie in with the Ahsoka Disney+ show, and the no-frills approach to its design helps to keep the price point low.

The set’s central spinning mechanic is beautifully achieved, and under the right circumstances the ship can twist and turn endlessly, whether it’s being played with or placed in a unique pose on a shelf. It is a little too easy to catch the ship’s large wings on its landing gear or an errant finger, but these are minor quibbles that don’t detract from the beauty of seeing the thing in action.

Despite its relatively lean piece count, the ship feels satisfying and sturdy. Its large wingspan is achieved with several layers of plates, so nothing feels flimsy or fragile, and the finished model ends up feeling like a set worthy of its price tag more so than some other sets from the latest wave.

75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle is solid. It’s not overflowing with extra details, but it does what it aims to do well, and that’s definitely a plus.

The biggest benefit to 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle’s relatively meagre piece count is that the price is kept low, which means that several very impressive minifigures are more affordable than they might be otherwise.

For many builders, the minifigures here are worth the price of admission alone. Ahsoka Tano herself is naturally the star of the show, with a moulded headpiece, two face options, printing on both her arms and legs, and a pair of trans-clear lightsabers.

Some fans may have wished for a slightly different texture to the lightsaber blades, or for the lightsaber hilt piece used for Asajj Ventress in 75087 Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter, but for most of us, this is about as good as an Ahsoka minifigure will ever get.

Joining Ahsoka is Sabine Wren, who returns to minifigure form after an extended absence. This minifigure is exactly what you’d expect from a Mandalorian, with a stock helmet piece recoloured to match Sabine’s street artist sensibilities. While she doesn’t feature arm printing and is therefore not quite as detailed as Ahsoka, this minifigure is another very impressive inclusion in the set.

The droid, Huyang, features excellent torso and leg printing which really sell him as an ageing Old Republic robot who’s barely remaining technologically relevant. This printing may be easily overlooked, though, because of his new custom moulded head element, which perfectly captures the droid’s look from both Ahsoka and his previous animated appearances.

Some LEGO fans may be disappointed that Huyang’s head is achieved with a custom piece rather than something that feels inherently more like LEGO, but these kinds of head elements have been a common feature of Star Wars since the beginning, and are a somewhat necessary inclusion given that there aren’t any pre-existing elements that would do Huyang justice.

Finally, the set includes the shadowy Marrok, a minifigure which is exactly what should be expected of an Inquisitor character. In keeping with the character in the show, Marrok features nothing but a black, featureless head under his mask; nothing more to see here.

— LEGO Star Wars 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle price —

75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle costs £64.99 in the UK, $79.99 in the US and €74.99 in the EU, making it the cheapest Ahsoka LEGO set in the current wave. This price point is particularly appreciated given the wealth of minifigures in the set, and many fans will feel that the price is justified for this alone.

Despite its small piece count, the large wings of the T-6 Shuttle make this set feel bigger and sturdier than many more expensive LEGO Star Wars sets, so the price feels somewhat more reasonable than many sets across the theme.

— LEGO Star Wars 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle pros and cons —

75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle is a simple and somewhat basic build that does exactly what it says on the box and nothing more. It is laser-focused on delivering a compact version of the T-6 Shuttle with an excellent spinning mechanic, and its lack of additional features or greater cockpit size are balanced out by a selection of minifigures that will be tremendously appealing to fans of the Ahsoka Disney+ show.
