Seven more retiring LEGO sets to buy on double VIP points

With the latest double LEGO VIP points coming to an end on the official online store, now is the perfect time to score some retiring sets with a decent discount.

From theme parks to outer space, the LEGO Group is soon to retire a selection of sets both minuscule and massive. Whether they be leaving as early as this month or as late as December, this might be the last double VIP points event to buy them in.

We’ve already gathered a collection of models that are soon to leave LEGO.com, but there’s simply too many to contain to just one list, so here are seven more sets you might want to pick up with 10% cashback while you can.

7 – 60229 Rocket Assembly & Transport

LEGO CITY’s most recent missions into the depths of space are coming to a close as 60229 Rocket Assembly & Transport is listed as ‘retiring soon’ on the official online store.

The 1,054 piece build provides everything a budding astronaut might need to prepare for an interstellar voyage. A workshop area, mission control and a variety of vehicles for flight and ground travel are all included with a total of seven minifigures for £119.99 / $149.99 / €129.99. That brings the VIP point total to an equivalent of around £11.99.

6 – 75810 The Upside Down

The only LEGO Netflix set is due to retire at the end of this year according to Brick Fanatics‘ sources, sending 75810 The Upside Down into the blocky void with no other models based on Stranger Things known about at this time.

For £179.99 / $199.99 / €199.99, this LEGO Stranger Things set includes the iconic cast of the show and a Demogorgon minifigure with some exclusive pieces amongst them. As mentioned in our review, building 75810 The Upside Down is an experience that no other set has come close to.

5 – 41258 Vibe City Concert

The LEGO Group is officially retiring the first wave of LEGO Trolls World Tour sets as the entire range is due to leave LEGO.com in the near future. A few of them will fit in well with the VIDIYO sets, including 41258 Vibe City Concert.

With exclusive characters and a colourful array of elements, 41258 Vibe City Concert could be the perfect stage for your next VIDIYO concert or even a great present for a younger fan of the film. There’s no word on any future LEGO Trolls World Tour sets, so this is likely the last chance.

4 – 71712 Empire Temple of Madness

Not only is 71712 Empire Temple of Madness retiring, but LEGO.com is also offering 15% off the remaining stock in the UK and Europe bringing the price down to £59.49 / €67.99.

The 810-piece model is part of NINJAGO’s video game-themed wave of sets and depicts the showdown between the heroic ninja team and Unagami. The temple features several play features and hidden details such as an exclusive arcade machine build.

3 – 21045 Trafalgar Square

According to our sources, 21045 Trafalgar Square is retiring by December so time may be running out to get this microscale model. Recreating the Westminster plaza, the set depicts the public square with miniature details, pairing well with the other Architecture creations.

London fanatics will enjoy the small bus builds and the National Gallery even features artwork from across the LEGO Group’s part catalogue. You’ll earn a total of 1280 VIP points on 21045 Trafalgar Square until July 18.

2 – 75292 The Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Transport

Despite only releasing in 2020, the days may be numbered for 75292 The Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Transport and even with the release of more The Mandalorian models, it remains the only way to get the classic version of Greef Karga.

This bounty-hunting vessel includes a full interior with room for Carbonite cases, a sleeping Mandalorian warrior and child, cockpit and more. The LEGO Group are about to release three more builds based on the series, but no remakes 75292 The Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Transport have been announced just yet, so this is the only way to get the Razor Crest in minifigure-scale.

1 – 71044 Disney Train and Station

As sad as it may seem, 71044 Disney Train and Station is due to retire at the end of 2021 according to our sources. With five classic characters and a destination from the original Disney theme park, this collectable set can score you plenty of VIP points for a limited time.

71044 Disney Train and Station is the perfect companion to 71040 The Disney Castle or a great standalone tribute to Disneyland. With a price of £299.99 / $329.99 / 329.99€, the LEGO Disney build will get you more than enough VIP points to last a while, and we’ve got a full review ready to read for every little detail in the model.
