Monuments we’d love to see in the rumoured LEGO Architecture set

A rumoured LEGO Architecture set may depict numerous monuments from around the world, and there are quite a few we’d like to see recreated.

With a name like 21058 Monuments of the World, the rumoured set could depict any number of landmarks from across the globe. This might even be a chance for the LEGO designers to revisit a few monuments released on a smaller scale as part of previous LEGO Architecture ranges.

With that in mind, here are monuments we’d love to see in the rumoured 21058 Monuments of the World, which has not been officially confirmed at this time:

The Great Sphinx of Giza

Located in Giza, Egypt, the Great Sphinx of Giza has become an icon of ancient Egyptian culture and history that is underrepresented in LEGO sets. Other sphinx models include 5978 Sphinx Secret Surprise from 1998 and 7326 Rise of the Sphinx from 2011, as well as a small build in 21047 Las Vegas.

A realistic model depicting the Great Sphinx of Giza might not take up too much of the rumoured 21058 Monuments of the World set and features a shape that may be well-suited to LEGO bricks.

Trevi Fountain

One monument that has been seen before in LEGO Architecture is the Trevi Fountain in Rome. A mid-sized model of it was released in 2014 as 21020 Trevi Fountain, though the intricate statues and rockwork were arguably underrepresented.

Even though it might be treading familiar territory for the LEGO Group, a second chance to recreate the Trevi Fountain could provide the means to mix minifigures into LEGO Architecture, adding detail to the statues with printing.

Mount Rushmore

While not entirely man-made, the sculpted faces of Mount Rushmore is a classic monument in South Dakota that the LEGO group has yet to depict, apart from in LEGOLAND resorts around the world and a parody mountain in LEGO CITY Undercover

A build for the monument could be designed in a variety of scales to fit whatever piece count it can be allowed and could be another opportunity for minifigure elements in LEGO Architecture to recreate the faces, though brick-built depictions might be better with the theme.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa

Last seen in bricks in 2013, The Leaning Tower of Pisa has only been recreated with 21015 The Leaning Tower of Pisa in LEGO Architecture before, which used just 345 pieces to depict the structure.

By putting a larger piece count towards another Leaning Tower of Pisa LEGO model, the finer details of the monument can be depicted, with the same leaning function that gives it its name.

Hi maybe producing a set of plans/instructions of some of the great gothic cathedrals would be an idea letting the builder have the opportunity to use already acquired bricks to construct these great monuments.
