A LEGO version of Stonehenge is on the way this summer

Stonehenge is due to be recreated using LEGO bricks this half term, with families being invited to take part in the huge build.

It seems that the historic site of Stonehenge will soon be seen completely in LEGO form, in what will surely be no easy feat. The event is due to take place on May 27 till June 4 at Stonehenge, and adults as well as children who are over four years old are being invited to take part.

LEGO brick artists Kevin Hall and Emily Corl from design company Brick Galleria will be leading the creation of the structure, which will weigh over one tonne. The LEGO creation is likely to need as many hands as possible, with Scott Ashman, English Heritage Head of Historic Properties for Stonehenge saying that, “We’ll need all the help we can get completing this huge model of the monument before the week is out.”

He also went on to say: “The building blocks may be smaller than those used in the actual Stonehenge but there are thousands more of them, we love the fact that the bricks fit together in much the same way as the stones at Stonehenge.”
