Actor Billy Porter teams up with kids to design colourful LEGO headdress

Continuing in their series of rebuilding the world with creative minds, the LEGO Group has teamed up with actor Billy Porter to design a colourful headdress based on kid’s input.

The Rebuild the World campaign shows no sign of slowing as the latest collaboration with Billy Porter reinforces the idea of showcasing and celebrating the creativity of children.

This new series of videos is just one way of realising the weird and wonderful imagination of children by working with professional to create a stunning, and unique model.

For the unaware, Billy Porter is an American actor who has earned a following from his fashionable outfits, of which he wars to premieres and other events. However, his latest item is a tad more blocky than usual.

The final design features plenty of colour and detail with aspects of the model including a skyscraper and rainbow that not only helps with the structure but would arguably make a statement on any red carpet.

This is the second video in the series, which will be made up of four overall, each one involving a creator realising new ways of expressing themselves with music and design still to go. Check out the first one here, which involved perspective artist Alexa Meade and a 12,000-piece LEGO alien.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
