The biggest new LEGO sets still to come this year – August 2022
With the recent reveal of a huge LEGO Harry Potter set, we have a good idea of what other massive models are still to come in 2022.
We’re well into the second half of 2022 and it’s been a year filled with big and interesting builds from 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle for the 90th anniversary and 10302 Optimus Prime – a one-of-a-kind partnership between the LEGO Group and Hasbro. However, there’s still a lot to look forward to later this year.
In terms of officially confirmed models, the largest upcoming set comes from Harry Potter in the form of 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition. It’s by far the largest recreation of the train from the Wizarding World in bricks yet and comes with an exclusive collection of minifigures, including a few that are unlikely to be featured in any other sets anytime soon. It launches on August 31.
Turning towards the Mushroom Kingdom, LEGO Super Mario will add 71411 The Mighty Bowser on October 1. This large Bowser figure features moving parts that help to make it compatible with the LEGO Super Mario course building system as the ultimate boss battle.
The latest LEGO Ideas set will also release later this year as The Office finally makes its way into the theme on October 1 after multiple proposals on the platform. Alternatively, you can take a trip to Pandora with the launch of LEGO Avatar and its biggest build – 75574 Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls.
It’s a diverse range of models that have yet to be released on the official online store, useful for any potential purchases on Black Friday, LEGO VIP Weekend or later on in the holiday season.
