Build your own LEGO Superior Iron Man with Minifigures Series 29
Want to fill a big gap in your LEGO Iron Man collection? Get down to your local LEGO Store and start scanning Series 29 boxes…
71052 Series 29 has been on shelves for a few days now, and the community has already started cooking up creative new ways to use its new elements. One of the best examples we’ve seen so far is jipjiplegoworld’s custom Superior Iron Man armour, which combines Tony Stark’s head, hair and hands with the torso and legs of the Robot T. rex minifigure.

The patterns across the torso and legs obviously aren’t a one-for-one match for Superior Iron Man (arguably one of the biggest holes in the LEGO Hall of Armour from a comics perspective), but they’re close enough to pass muster for a purist solution. And it gives new life to the Robot T. rex, which otherwise arguably risks being one of the most overlooked minifigures in Series 29.

Not caught up on your Marvel lore? Iron Man’s Superior suit first appeared in a July 2014 issue of Avengers, before making its full debut in Superior Iron Man #1 in November that year. Also known as the ‘Endo-Sym Armour’, it uses symbiote biology to create a liquid metal suit that can be summoned without electrical inputs and controlled remotely. Think Venom, but minus the sentience and cannibalism.

71052 Series 29 is out now at LEGO.com, in LEGO Stores and at third-party retailers. If this story has you going on the hunt for a Robot T. rex, make sure to download Brick Search in advance: the app’s minifigure scanner will help you identify what’s in each box. No buying 50 BIONICLE Cosplayers trying to find one T. rex, then.
It’s available on iOS or Android now and Brick Search Plus members get unlimited use of the scanner.
