The community is loving some LEGO 71048 Series 27 minifigures

The new LEGO 71048 Series 27 minifigure series 27 is proving to be popular with the community, thanks in no small part to a few key characters.

71048 Series 27’s 12 minifigures are available now to collect and customise and the vast LEGO community has had a few days to get suitably creative with the characters, showcasing their potential.

Before you leave the house to start collecting, remember that Brick Search Plus has the best-ever LEGO minifigure scanner. Download the app for iOS or Android and become a member to get unlimited use.

The Steampunk Inventor is proving to be a particularly popular minifigure, possibly because Steampunk is a subgenre that the LEGO Group has not previously covered before this minifigure. Now that there’s finally a LEGO Steampunk minifigure with gold detailing, goggles, pipes and more, it’s become an instant hit.

Some of the community have taken particular notice of the Steampunk Inventor’s head and top hat to make unique custom minifigures, including switching Steampunk for a classic outfit.

G.B. R. Home‘s group of custom characters has used the new printed hat in reverse to hide the goggles from sight while still benefitting from that exclusive face design and the brown moulded top hat piece. Given the fanciful style of Steampunk in general, it’s not shocking to see this minifigure looking right at home in the well-suited group.

Aside from the Steampunk Inventor, the Jetpack Racer and Astronomer Kid have been used to create an interesting display by Punk Rock Vader and the use of the transparent curved element works perfectly with the futuristic jetpack minifigure.

Whichever minifigure you prefer in 71048 Series 27, the new series is available now for £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 per boxed minifigure. Click here to take an in-depth look at all 12 collectable characters.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
