Comparing LEGO Speed Champions Audi car to the real livery
The reveal of LEGO Speed Champions 77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 comes just one day after the real car’s livery reveal.
The Audi F1 team revealed its livery on January 20 in a launch event in Berlin, helmed by Head of the Audi F1 Project Mattia Binotto and the team’s first two drivers, Niko Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto. This gave Formula 1 fans a first look at the team’s livery, just one day before it was revealed in miniature as a LEGO Speed Champions car.
77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 is available to pre-order now ahead of its launch on March 1, but how accurate is the 216-piece set compared to its real-world counterpart? It’s worth noting for non-Formula 1 fans that the photos from the event only show off the livery, with some changes to the car itself entirely possible before and even after it hits the track.
Nonetheless, we can certainly draw some parallels between the Speed Champions LEGO set and its real-world inspiration.
The first thing to jump out is a slight discrepancy in the colours. While 77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 has red accents on the wheels, Audi logos, and on the rear flanks of the car, the colour on the actual car is closer to orange. A reddish orange might have been a more accurate colour to choose for the LEGO set.

The air intake on the sidepods also has that same orange colour for the accents, where it appears to only be grey in the brick-built version. While we’re there, there are also some differences in the shape, with bulkier sections tucked underneath the sidepods where the Revolut branding is on the car debuted by the Audi F1 team than the Speed Champions car has.
Admittedly, that could be subject to change when the car actually takes to the track, with Formula 1 teams not wanting to debut the final car this early in the season to avoid giving away team secrets.
One new feature that appears to reflect new F1 regulations in place for 2026 is the delicate fin at the back of the car. It seems to replace the drag reduction system (DRS) that has been phased out for this year’s season, replaced by OverTake Mode.
The description for 77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 says that the set “design details that comply with the updated F1 car regulations for the new season” – which is presumably what this is. It’s hard to tell from these photos, but the fin-shaped element could be a whole new piece, appearing to clip into a rounded element below.

There’s not enough room on the tiny piece for authentic branding for BP, although the Audi logo is still in place just in front of it. Looking at the colours towards the rear end of the car, the LEGO version of Audi’s livery has straighter lines, separating the grey, black, and red sections with vertical lines, while the real car has more angled lines, with the black section reaching all the way through to the engine cover.

All in all, while 77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 looks like it will slot in nicely among the rest of the LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 line-up, there are some pretty major differences. The colour scheme is what helps each member of the 10-strong grid stand out, and that’s just a bit too off for our liking, as well as the discrepancies in shape. Nonetheless, it’s exciting to see that the LEGO Speed Champions designers have made sure to include new techniques to reflect the change in the real cars in 2026.
LEGO Speed Champions 77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 is available to pre-order now ahead of its launch on March 1, retailing at £22.99 in the UK, $27.99 in the US, and from €27.99 in Europe.

The Audi logo on the nose cone is in the wrong orientation. And with regards to the red/orange colour, after seeing more photos with different lighting, I believe the Lego version should be pretty accurate
