The LEGO Group will soon release a new, massive model for the Tumbler Batmobile, but how do the new minifigures compare to the older variety?
With 76240 Batmobile Tumbler on the horizon, as well as a new trio of minifigures based on the Dark Knight minifigures, it’s time to see how the fresh variant of the bulky Batmobile can compare when it comes to its supporting cast of characters.
The original 76023 The Tumbler came with just two minifigures for Batman and the Joker, as the hero and villain of 2008’s The Dark Knight.
The former was dressed in the all-black iconic costume with metallic detailing for the utility belt and no printing on the legs. The Joker was similarly detailed with a makeup-filled face, green hair and purple overcoat that stretched down past the waist.
Aside from the updated stand, which now reflects the design seen in similarly huge Batman builds such as 76161 1989 Batwing, the majority of the differences come from Joker, who has removed his purple coat in favour of showing his printed patterned sleeves and green vest. Striped detailing can also be seen on the legs.
Batman has fewer immediately noticeable changes but does not feature leg printing detailing the segmented armour plating as well as a less metallic colouring for the utility belt. This minifigure is almost identical to the one that appears in 76239 Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown, but without the detailed legs and as detailed a torso.
Both new LEGO Batman Tumblers will be available soon with the smaller of the two launching on October 1 for £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99 and the larger 76240: Batmobile Tumbler releasing November 1 for £209.99 / $229.99 / €229.99. The pair is also up for pre-order in the US but shoppers in other regions will simply have to wait for the release dates.
