Major spoilers for the sixth chapter of The Book of Boba Fett will be discussed in this article, so click away should you wish to keep the surprise.
Other than the franchise they take place in, the latest episode of The Book of Boba Fett revealed what the show has in common with the animated series – The Bad Batch. Cad Bane has made his debut in live-action as part of the new instalment, in a confrontation with Cobb Vanth and his new deputy.
The bounty hunter was first introduced as an antagonist in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, returning later in The Bad Batch and facing off against Fennec Shand, who also features in the show. However, being introduced in live-action might have brought the character into view of a mainstream audience more than the animated series could.
Should audiences being introduced to the character wish to acquire a minifigure of Cad Bane, the secondary market is their only hope with his last LEGO appearance being in 75024 HH-87 Starhopper from 2013. His breathing apparatus was also only featured in the 2010 sets 8098 Clone Turbo Tank and 8128 Cad Bane’s Speeder.
Cad Bane’s re-introduction to the galaxy in live-action might offer an opportunity for the LEGO Group to bring back the minifigure in builds based on the show, though no such sets have currently been officially confirmed, with rumours suggesting another Mandalorian creation.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens to the bounty hunter after the finale of The Book of Boba Fett when it airs next week on Disney+. Another Star Wars streaming series, The Mandalorian, has also recently been revealed to be getting three more models including two helmets.
