Darth Maul animated series revealed at Star Wars Celebration
Star Wars Celebration Japan has revealed an all-new Star Wars animated series, titled Maul – Shadow Lord, to celebrate 20 years of Star Wars animation.
Surprise guest to the stage at Star Wars Celebration Japan Sam Witwer appeared at the 20th anniversary Lucasfilm Animation panel to announce his return to the galaxy far, far away in a new animated show. Titled, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, the series is set after the Clone Wars and follows Maul starting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire.
Witwer first portrayed Maul in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, later reprising the role in Rebels. Fans attending Star Wars Celebration in Japan got the first look at Witwer’s return in the upcoming show, with an audience-only sizzle reel offering a sneak peek of the show.
Although the majority of modern LEGO Star Wars sets are based on live-action shows and movies, animated series can also spawn brick-built recreations, so it could be that we’ll see sets based on the upcoming series. However, considering Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord is still currently in production and won’t make its debut on Disney+ until 2026, that’s still a little while away for now.

I absolutely LOVE the K-250 brick build. I would definitely love to have, and put together the K-250 because I’m always up for a great challenge. I also can’t wait for the automated series to start coming out because I really, really want to see what they come up with to make the Lego sets automated.
