First rumoured details on LEGO Star Wars May the 4th 2025 GWP

The first rumoured details on this year’s LEGO Star Wars May the 4th gift-with-purchase have surfaced, along with news of another potential BrickHeadz pack for 2025.

Redditor Clay_Bricks (who’s generally a reliable source for rumours) has republished reports from another community member that 40765 and 40796 will both fall under the LEGO Star Wars umbrella and arrive on shelves on May 1. That makes them prime candidates for this year’s May the 4th event, which will presumably get underway from May 1 based on previous years.

40765 is said to be a promotional set, so likely 2025’s headline LEGO Star Wars gift-with-purchase for May the 4th, coming in at 190 pieces with three minifigures. There’s no word yet on what it might be, but that’s an unusually high minifigure count for this kind of model – past May the 4th GWPs have generally included a single minifigure at best, with the exception of last year’s 40686 Trade Federation Troop Carrier.

That Phantom Menace model packs in eight Battle Droids total (six regular B1s and two blue-torso pilots), but given droids aren’t generally regarded as valuable as standard minifigures, it wasn’t too surprising to see a bunch of them all in the one box. If 40765 does contain three regular minifigures, it will be the most of any LEGO Star Wars May the 4th gift-with-purchase to date.

40796, meanwhile, is believed to be another BrickHeadz set, following on from 2024’s 40676 The Phantom Menace and 2023’s 40623 Battle of Endor Heroes. It’s rumoured to include 656 pieces, which puts it somewhere in the middle of those two May releases – so chances are we’re looking at another multipack of characters.

Both those previous sets were tied to movie anniversaries (25 years of The Phantom Menace and 40 years of Return of the Jedi respectively), and 2025 is the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith… you do the maths.

Take all these details with a grain of salt for now, but if they are true this year’s May the 4th event is already shaping up to be something pretty special (a phrase which here means ‘expensive’).
