Disney reveals full cast for Obi-Wan Kenobi limited event series

The full cast for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series has been revealed ahead of production, with some surprisingly familiar faces in the mix.

Joining the already-confirmed Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker are Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse, who will presumably be reprising their roles as Owen and Beru Lars from Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

The rest of the cast is rounded out by Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. There’s no word yet on who they’ll be playing, but it’s likely we’ll see plenty of brand new characters to flesh out the galaxy even further.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is billed as a ‘special event series’, so while the exact number of episodes has yet to be confirmed, it’s unlikely we’ll see multiple seasons. The show will be helmed by Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes of The Mandalorian, with shooting set to begin in April.

Given we’ve already seen multiple sets based on The Mandalorian – including 75292 The Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Transport and 75299 Trouble on Tatooine – it’s not unreasonable to expect we may eventually see LEGO products based on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

There’s no firm release date for the show just yet, though – so if you’re looking to add Obi-Wan and Anakin to your collection in the immediate future, you’ll probably want to grab 75269 Duel on Mustafar before it retires for good.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
