The one Easter egg we need in rumoured LEGO Spider-Verse minifigures

Rumours of a LEGO Spider-Verse Collectible Minifigures series have huge potential, but there’s one scene that just has to be referenced.

With its many characters and alternative versions of Spider-Man from across the multiverse, there’s simply no way that the rumoured 71050 Sony’s Spider-Verse Collectible Minifigures series would be able to reference absolutely everything from the second or even just the first movie. With this likelihood in mind, there’s at least one moment that has to be included in some form.

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, a LEGO Spider-Man from Earth-13122 is introduced before getting in touch with Miguel O’Hara. This scene has been uploaded on YouTube by the animator on his YouTube channel, offering an in-depth look at the short-lived visit to Earth-13122.

A reference to this scene and the canonical LEGO Spider-Man and Peter Parker minifigure would be perfect for the rumoured 71050 Sony’s Spider-Verse Collectible Minifigures series, though it’s only a rumour at the time of writing. One of the best ways to reference this scene would be by including the character in the Collectible Minifigures Series, but that would require a slot being taken up by what is ultimately a generic Spider-Man minifigure that we’ve had in other sets.

Instead, LEGO Peter Parker could be another way to represent the universe while representing the secret identity of the iconic character in some form. Alternatively, a newspaper tile focusing on The Spot’s brief peek into the brick-built world would be an interesting reference without taking up a full minifigure slot.

Whatever the case, the multiversal watch is a must-have in the rumoured LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series and the LEGO Across the Spider-Verse scene offers an idea of what it might look like.

In the film, it’s represented by a band that wraps around a minifigure arm. In real life, this would require the hand to be removed which is not intended for minifigures. Instead, transforming this animated band into a real clip with a print would be more versatile, though it would risk causing stress to the piece over time.

While we wait to see whether or not this rumour is accurate – taking it with caution in the meantime – we can only hope that the LEGO Across The Spider-Verse scene comes full circle and is referenced in some form in the rumoured 2025 series.
