Every depiction of the LEGO Star Wars Death Star so far

75419 Death Star may be the biggest physical LEGO Star Wars Death Star to date, but it’s far from the first in both sets and the LEGO games.

The 9,000-piece 2025 LEGO Star Wars Death Star set is the latest in a long line of brick-build depictions of the space station (whether it’s the first or second form), easily topping the list in terms of size physically, but likely not when you account for digital LEGO Death Stars.

While we wait for the launch of 75419 Death Star on October 1 for LEGO Insiders or October 4 widely, here’s your guide to every LEGO Death Star ever depicted.

10143 Death Star II

2005’s 10143 Death Star II is the first spherical depiction of the space station, featuring a staggering 3,449 pieces, a display stand and a miniature Super Star Destroyer.

10188 Death Star

10188 Death Star added minifigures and an interior to the concept of a brick-built Death Star in 2008, eschewing most exterior details aside from the iconic superlaser weapon.

9676 TIE Interceptor and Death Star

2012’s LEGO Death Star formed part of the planet series, using a pair of exclusive round elements to form one of the most intricate, but small, LEGO Death Stars to date.

75159 Death Star

2016’s 75159 Death Star remade the 2008 model with more minifigures, updated prints, and some remixed builds to account for retired pieces, giving the original concept a bit more time on shelves before it would leave entirely.

40591 Death Star II

2023’s LEGO Star Wars May the 4th gift-with-purchase was 40591 Death Star II, revisiting the concept of the original LEGO Death Star with a display stand and exterior detailing, but this time on a much smaller scale with only 289 pieces.

75419 Death Star

The huge, $1,000 LEGO Star Wars Death Star 2025 set is hitting shelves next month, easily topping the other LEGO Death Stars in terms of size and detail, but for once only depicting a slice of the space station rather than taking on a spherical shape.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s Death Star capital ship looks to be comparable to 75419 Death Star in its size, but with a spherical form instead of the dish-like build we see in the upcoming set. Though the Death Star has appeared in other LEGO games, The Skywalker Saga was the first where it was visibly brick-built.

The most recent LEGO Star Wars game also represented the Death Star II as a capital ship, modifying the original build appropriately.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Death Star (Micro)

There were two other depictions of the LEGO Death Star in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the first of which is a micro version of the original Death Star that minifigures can drive.

A micro version of the Death Star II also appears in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, similarly modifying a section of the original build to include the under-construction segments.

Honourable mentions

While there have been no other full recreations of the LEGO Death Star, the space station has made an appearance in many other LEGO Star Wars sets. From single rooms of the space station as dioramas, an expansion to 75419 Death Star to displayable collectables and even a brief advent calendar cameo, the legacy of the LEGO Death Star is almost as massive as the space station itself.

LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star is the latest part of that legacy, launching on October 1 for LEGO Insiders and October 4 widely for £899.99 / $999.99 / €999.99.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
