Every new LEGO set launching in April 2023

April is the new March, that’s what they say, and the LEGO Group is getting in on the game with plenty of new sets launching next week.

Remember when you could plan most of your LEGO spending around two big days of the year? January 1 and June 1. Good times. Now we’re constantly being barraged with new sets seemingly every single month, and not just big tentpole releases, either – but entire waves from multiple different themes. So it goes for April 2023, which is bad news for our wallets, but good news for lovers of shiny new stuff.

There are some heavy hitters launching on April 1, too, including the latest LEGO Icons vehicle in 10317 Land Rover Classic Defender 90 and three new LEGO Indiana Jones sets. No need to check your calendar: we haven’t time-travelled back to 2008. There really are new LEGO Indy sets coming very, very soon, including a beautiful collision of play and display in 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol.

Scroll down for a complete list of every new LEGO set launching on April 1. (We’ve restrained from mentioning April Fool’s until now, but rest assured everything here really will be available to buy from the beginning of the month. Unless there’s another last-minute cancellation.)

LEGO BrickHeadz

Three new LEGO BrickHeadz based on Minecraft characters are arriving April 1, marking the video game’s first buildable statuettes in five years. Alex, a Zombie and a Llama join 2018’s 41612 Steve & Creeper, and is there really a better fit for this blocky theme than a blocky video game?

We’ve had one Land Rover, yes, but what about second Land Rover? This is presumably what the designers at Billund have been asking ever since 42110 Land Rover Defender launched in 2020, and so here we are three years later, with 10317 Land Rover Classic Defender 90 roaring on to shelves.

Grab your fedora and your whip and get your mind out of the gutter: we’re heading back to the ‘80s for some classic adventuring action with the return of LEGO Indiana Jones, which so far covers both Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. (But not, critically, The Temple of Doom.)

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
