First discount on LEGO Barad-dûr and rare discount on Rivendell

Catch up on the previous two LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets for less with a rare discount on Rivendell – and the long-awaited first discount on Barad-dûr.

Amazon is the exclusive third-party retailer of both 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell and 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr in the UK, which means it’s basically your only hope of finding discounts on either of these Middle-earth models. The good news is that they’re both currently 15% off as part of Amazon’s spring sale, which is a hefty discount considering the starting price of these sets.

It’s also the first time we’ve seen any sort of saving on 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr, which comes down from £399.99 to only £339.99. For your money you’ll get 5,471 pieces, 11 minifigures – including the exclusive Sauron, Mouth of Sauron, Gollum and Gothmog – and a towering fortress that stands 83cm tall when all’s said and done.

10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, meanwhile, is currently available at Amazon for only £365.49 – or nearly £65 off its recommended retail price of £429.99. If you were to take the plunge on both of these sets, you’d be saving almost £125 on their combined RRP. That’s not bad going ahead of the launch of 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire, which is surely right around the corner now.

If you need to catch up on either or both of the previous gargantuan LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets before taking a trip to Hobbiton, head over to Amazon and secure your copies while this price holds.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
