First look at LEGO SDCC 2025 reveals in hand – Arkham, Game Boy and more

The LEGO Group’s latest batch of reveals are on the show floor at San Diego Comic-Con, giving us our first look at 76300 Arkham Asylum, 72046 Game Boy and more in hand.

Nine new LEGO sets were unveiled overnight in conjunction with SDCC 2025, including the latest superhero modular building, a near-life-size Game Boy, six new Wicked sets and the first LEGO Stranger Things set since 2022. YouTuber DuckBricks is in attendance at San Diego and has now published a video offering a first look at all of these new reveals in the flesh.

72046 Game Boy

First up is 72046 Game Boy, this year’s second 18+ set under the Super Mario banner (following 72037 Mario & Standard Kart). It’s due to hit shelves on October 1 for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99, and as DuckBricks demonstrates, includes a surprising level of functionality: not only can you swap between the two included game cartridges, but you can even push the buttons on the front of the console and toggle the on/off switch.

Pretty much every element across this 421-piece model is printed, too – possibly explaining the high price-to-piece ratio – with only the cartridges featuring stickers for The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land, which as DuckBricks and fellow YouTuber MiniSuperHeroesToday point out is actually accurate to the real-life games.

76300 Arkham Asylum

Next up is 76300 Arkham Asylum, the first DC modular building and the biggest version of this Gotham institution to date. Weighing in at 2,953 pieces for £269.99 / $299.99 / €299.99, it will be in your hands on September 9 and is up for pre-order now. The model on display at San Diego Comic-Con is unfortunately locked within a glass case, so DuckBricks couldn’t literally go hands-on with it.

These images give us a clearer sense of the model’s size, though, along with a first look at the back wall with the cells enclosed (which isn’t shown in the set’s official images). We can also better see the various stickered Easter eggs on the exterior, along with the broken walls scattered around that suggest Arkham Asylum has already seen its fair share of breakouts.

“It’s a little smaller than I imagined it would be for $300, but honestly it doesn’t bother me that much because it is genuinely a really nicely-done model,” DuckBricks says.

40801 Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will Figures

Also on display at San Diego Comic-Con are the four new LEGO Stranger Things BrickHeadz, releasing ahead of the show’s final season. 40801 Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will Figures introduces the rest of the main gang, joining 2022’s now retired 40549 Demogorgon & Eleven (so fingers crossed you picked that one up when it was still available).

“I feel like the depictions of the characters in BrickHeadz form are pretty good,” DuckBricks says. “I like the prints being used and I think the depictions are good. I just wish that we would actually get minifigure-based Stranger Things sets, because we haven’t gotten that since the very first Upside Down.”

Wicked 2025 sets

Finally, the YouTuber has shared first looks at the new range of LEGO Wicked: For Good sets revealed at SDCC, which you can check out in the gallery above (or by hitting play on the video up top). These include a range of playsets, display sets and even another new 18+ model that feels like it straddles both the LEGO Wicked and LEGO Art themes, and comes complete with Wicked and The Wizard of Oz minifigures.

Chris Turner-Wharfe

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
