Five LEGO sets worth getting on double VIP points

It is double VIP points time again, with bonus freebies to really add value to LEGO Store orders – so which sets are worth ordering this weekend?

Double VIP points, 40338 Christmas Tree free with orders over £120 and 5006085 Buildable 2×4 Red Brick free with orders over £200. It is the best weekend of the year to be placing orders at LEGO.com, but with so much to choose from it is a slightly overwhelming prospect. Here are five sets that make good use of the double VIP points promotion, some of which will also qualify for the exclusive freebies.

LEGO Star Wars 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer

75252 Imperial Star Destroyer

It almost goes without saying that this LEGO Star Wars behemoth works out much better than usual during a double VIP points deal. With a £649.99 price tag, those buying the set will get approximately £65 back in points to spend on future purchases. 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer also clearly qualifies for both free exclusive sets, 40338 Christmas Tree and 5006085 Buildable 2×4 Red Brick.

LEGO Originals 853967 Wooden Minifigure

One of the must-haves this Christmas for LEGO fans is 853967 Wooden Minifigure, largely because it is a limited edition and no-one knows when it will be sold out forever. As something completely different, it is an easy gift for friends or family to give. Double VIP points make it a more palatable purchase, and with a small set added to the order it will qualify for 40338 Christmas Tree.

LEGO Creator Expert 10264 Corner Garage

Tradition dictates that January will see the release of a new LEGO Creator Expert modular, making this a good moment to get the last one.  10264 Corner Garage is packed full of detail and charm, and benefits from the 10% LEGO.com cashback that comes during a double points deal. It will also qualify for 40338 Christmas Tree , which can be used to decorate the model and add some festive cheer.

LEGO Creator Expert 10267 Gingerbread House

This is the moment to buy the set anyway, so that fans can maximise the amount of time they can display the set over the holiday period, making the double VIP points a nice bonus. To qualify for 40338 Christmas Tree, which will complement this set well, fans should add an advent calendar or two to the basket – it is the last opportunity to get them delivered by December 1.

LEGO Jurassic World 75936 Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage

One of the year’s most impressive sets is not minifigure scale, although it does include some of the most desirable minifigures the LEGO Group has ever produced. This beautiful Jurassic Park model is a joy to build and looks impressive when on display. £22 back in VIP points is welcome, but what makes this set an even better one to order is that it qualifies for both 40338 Christmas Tree and 5006085 Buildable 2×4 Red Brick.

The deals are only available until the end of Sunday, November 24, or while stocks last, so anyone looking to take advantage of the special offers should do so quickly.
