Five LEGOLAND attractions that would make great LEGO sets

LEGOLAND resorts across the world are now selling a range of sets based on the family-friendly attractions they contain, but what other rides would work well as a LEGO set?

As we saw earlier this week, some exclusive models of LEGOLAND attractions are now available across the world, with rides covered so far including the Driving School, The Dragon rollercoaster and the more recent 40429 NINJAGO World.

But with these sets proving popular among LEGO fans, we can’t help but wonder what attractions might be next for this new collection, with many rides currently in development. With that in mind, here are five LEGOLAND attractions that would make great LEGO sets.

5 – LEGO Factory Adventure

LEGO Factory Adventure is an attraction that will be debuting at LEGOLAND New York, and a brand-new ride system for LEGOLAND parks. With this exciting addition opening first in the US, then hopefully elsewhere too, a set to promote it would be almost too perfect. Going off the concept art above, the model could include one of the ride vehicles and miniature versions of the animal helpers or even an opening factory door.

4 – The Jolly Rocker

If you’re hoping for a return to LEGO Pirates then this idea might be particularly exciting. LEGOLAND Windsor features an attraction called the Jolly Rocker that will no doubt look familiar as a swinging pirate ship. However, this particular ride includes a LEGO overlay, meaning most of the design work for a potential model is already done. Assuming it would remain the same size, a small queue area might be the only other addition to a possibly Jolly Rocker model.

3 – Merlin’s Apprentice

Even the most dedicated of LEGOLAND fans amongst you might not have heard of this attraction. Merlin’s apprentice is a smaller ride featured at LEGOLAND Discovery Centres worldwide. It features the wizardly Merlin casting a spell that causes the ride vehicles, made to look like sofas, raise up and down. Not only could this be a return to LEGO Castle, but it could represent the Discovery Centre locations in the LEGOLAND sets.

2 – Polar X-plorer

A LEGOLAND rollercoaster takes the second-to-last spot on the list. LEGOLAND Billund was the first of the resort’s to open and can be found right next to the LEGO Group’s HQ. As part of an expansion in 2012, the polar land was added to the park, including the Polar X-plorer rollercoaster. This ride takes guests on a journey through a snowy mountain and into a polar bear’s den. A potential model of this could grant an opportunity to reintroduce the LEGO polar bear in a more recent set.

1 – DUPLO Dino Coaster

Who said that older fans could have all the fun? The DUPLO Dino Coaster is the latest addition to LEGOLAND Windsor and offers a thrill experience for much younger guests. it might not be right to make this a LEGO set, but a DUPLO set that still forms part of the LEGOLAND collection could be a great way for little builders to commemorate their first rollercoaster, by recreating it at home. A model of this would likely include the coaster train and central rotating island, not too hard since they’re already made of oversized DUPLO pieces.
