Five new LEGO Ideas sets announced in record-breaking first 2025 review
The LEGO Ideas team has announced the results of the first 2025 review, with a record-breaking five new sets getting the green light – and a sixth moving out of the Parking Lot.
A total of 57 unique projects were in contention this time round, and five have made the cut – while another three are moving into the Parking Lot, which means the LEGO Ideas team still needs more time to decide their fate, and one is emerging from the Parking Lot victorious. That’s the most projects approved in a single review to date, fulfilling the team’s promise of ‘the biggest LEGO Ideas review announcement ever’.
Check out all five newly-approved projects from the first 2025 review below, along with the three models moving into the Parking Lot (and the project coming out).
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial by Lafabrick

There were two E.T.-themed models in contention this time round, both wildly different in scope and presentation. The LEGO Ideas team has opted for Lafabrick’s buildable character over KoalaBricks’ art-style set, following the format of another buildable ‘80s icon in 21361 Gremlins: Gizmo.
La Catrina by yop1172

Next up is yop1172’s La Catrina, a towering ode to Mexican culture and Día de Muertos that clocks in at 2,894 pieces. It’ll be interesting to see whether the LEGO Ideas team maintains that size or shrinks it down for the final product given this one may have a slightly more niche audience, even if the model itself is stunning.
Smurf Village by The Half Blood Baron

The second licensed build given the nod here brings The Smurfs to LEGO thanks to The Half Blood Baron’s Smurf Village, which uses around 2,700 pieces to realise a sprawling selection of mushroom buildings. Given the popularity of the BrickLink Designer Program’s Mushroom House and Mushroom Village sets, it’s not too surprising to see the LEGO Group jump on this one.
Go Go Power Rangers! by TrumanBricks

While LEGO Ideas has been serving up plenty of sets for ‘80s kids lately (and will do so again with E.T.), ‘90s kids are finally getting in on the action with TrumanBricks’ Go Go Power Rangers! project. A sort of spiritual successor to 21311 Voltron, this huge mech is the work of Truman Cheng, who already has one LEGO Ideas set under his belt in 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night.
Ramen by Micdud

Last up on the newly-approved list is Micdud’s tantalising Ramen project, which represents the Ideas theme’s first foray into brick-built food. The original submission pitches a fully-customisable dish, with 12 spearate ingredients that can be assembled to your own tastes. Whether or not that intention will carry through to the finished model remains to be seen.
And into the Parking Lot…

Three submissions in the first 2025 review are moving into the LEGO Ideas Parking Lot, a new home for projects that need more time and consideration than the initial review process allows. Those are RobotRock’s Daft Punk Concert, Martin_Studio’s Golden Girls, and Iyan ha’s The Old Man & the Sea. We’ll hopefully find out more on those either way in 2026, along with the results of the second 2025 review.
Out of the Parking Lot…

As part of this announcement, the LEGO Group has also revealed that Sebastian Veselka’s Downton Abbey: Highclere Castle project has moved out of the Parking Lot and will now enter production as an official LEGO Ideas set. So that’s technically six new sets confirmed today for those keeping track at home…

When is the GILMORE GIRLS one going to get approved, the man who made it had more then enough signatures???? I’ve been waiting patiently, please 🙂
I think lego needs to take the mosaic set to the next level and make it color. Put restrictions on it if you have to,, like no more than 2 main subjects. Or no more than 5 colors. I just would love to gift a Lego set to each of my kids (all avid Lego builders) of a picture of their wedding day in legos.
I want to see an expected release for he Snoopy Campfire!
Finally we get “Every Single Power Ranger” as depicted in The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny. We’re getting close, guys!
i REALLY wanted that Jukebox set, i would’ve accepted the loss on the Portal one (it isn’t the first time), but GOD THE JUKEBOX WAS PERFECT
I am so excited for the Downton set!
Wow. For the first time, I have 0 interest in ant of these sets
And yet, still no Brooklyn 99 set!!! 4 times its been up for review and it deserves to be a fully fledged set!!
