Five of the weirdest LEGO Christmas gift ideas for 2022
Whilst there are plenty of must-have LEGO items available that would make perfect festive treats, there are also those that are downright… weird.
With Christmas less than a month away, now’s the time to start loading up physical and virtual shopping baskets with well-chosen LEGO gifts for the important individuals in your life. From pocket money purchases to massive wallet-busting sets, there’s something out there for almost every budget.
Although most of us will probably be adding LEGO sets of various shapes, sizes and piece counts to our Christmas lists, there are always those slightly stranger items that exist and may get overlooked. With that in mind, here are five of the weirdest and wackiest LEGO gifts lurking online:
5 – Adult Foam Minifigure Hands
Theme: Role Play & Costumes Price: £14.99 / $17.98 / €17.37 Available: Now
We’re not sure what’s creepier. The fact that these giant yellow minifigure hands are an official LEGO product or that they’re available in adult sizes. Ideal for cosplay or just for weirding out your friends, these massive hands can be easily picked up on the secondary market.
4 – Building Block Slippers
Theme: Accessories Price: £26.97 / $31.24 / €32.34 Available: Now
Completely unofficial, but damn cosy, these huge ‘LEGO style’ Building Block Slippers feature a giant brick design that’s just begging to trip you up and spill your tea. Available in multiple colours for a reasonable price, they should at least stop you treading on random LEGO pieces.
3 – Green Skeleton Storage Head
Theme: Storage Price: £17.95 / $21.53 / €20.79 Available: Now
Surprisingly not yet listed on the official online store, the Green Skeleton Storage Head is currently available to pre-order from A Place For Everything. Pop open the top of its skull and fill the undead cranium with as many LEGO elements as you can stuff inside it.
2 – Turn Yourself into a Mini Superhero
Theme: Minifigure Price: £25 / $29.98 / €28.95 Available: Now
Immortalise yourself in minifigure form with these slightly-disturbing Etsy creations. Simply upload a photo of yourself to the seller and they’ll create a 3D printed version of your head. The customer reviews are overwhelmingly positive, so who are we to argue?
1 – 40228 Geoffrey & Friends
Theme: Promotional Price: £9 / $10.79 / €10.42 Pieces: 133 Available: Now
Released in 2016 as a promotional set at Toys R Us stores, this LEGO model is just plain odd. Not only does the bucktoothed brick-built version of Geoffrey look nothing like his namesake, but his Godzilla-like proportions surely make him a danger to his tiny minifigure companions.
