Former LEGO US office sold

A buyer has been found for the vacant LEGO Group offices in Enfield, Connecticut, USA.

The LEGO Group’s old Enfield office, which has been sitting vacant, has been sold to USA Hauling & Recycling. The 24 acre site has been sold for $1.85 million by Winstanley Enterprises, the company that acquired the offices in 2017.

USA Hauling & Recycling will not use the full office complex, with plans to lease some of the space to other companies.

With several international businesses having vacated Enfield, or reduced their presence there, the town is looking to attract new and growing businesses to the area, Hartford Business reports. This includes finding ways to repurpose empty office space.

The LEGO Group gradually reduced the amount of space the company required in the USA until the location was no longer required last year. In Billund, Denmark, the LEGO Group has been going the opposite way and has completed construction of a brand new campus.
