Samuel Tacchi kickstarted his career as a motorcycle designer at Honda HRE-D in Italy, later moving to Triumph Motorcycle in the UK before finally finding his place in the LEGO Group. For the past five years, Samuel has been an integral part of the LEGO Technic team. 42130 BMW M 1000 RR is a clear testament to Samuel’s expertise in the motorcycle industry.

2 – The model required the creation of eight new pieces

42130 BMW M 1000 RR is the largest motorcycle LEGO set to date. With the 1:5 replica weighing 1.4kg, a whole new front and rear suspension setup needed to be created to support the heavy model. The technically accurate model also needed new rims, disc brakes and a transparent windscreen. All new pieces went through rigorous testing to get them ‘just right’.


1 – The build follows the BMW production process

The state-of-the-art 42130 BMW M 1000 RR has yet another level of accuracy to it, with the build having been designed to follow that of the real product, giving fans a glimpse of BMW’s own production processes. You start by creating the interior of the bike, and finish with the exterior and decorative elements.
