Four things we want to see in the rumoured LEGO Star Wars 75357 The Ghost

Said to time with Ahsoka later this year, the second set for The Ghost is rumoured for LEGO Star Wars and there’s a lot we want to see included.

Almost a decade ago in 2014, 75053 The Ghost was released as the only standard scale version of the ship from Star Wars: Rebels to date. With the animated series now over and the crew returning in Ahsoka, Promobricks report that another set for The Ghost is coming.

Considering the nine years between 75053 The Ghost and the rumoured 75357 The Ghost, here are four things that we’d like to see in an updated version.

4 – The Phantom II

75053 The Ghost didn’t include The Phantom shuttle that could dock with The Ghost, instead it was offered as a compatible set. While the original shuttle wouldn’t make sense to be included in a set based on the Ahsoka series, The Phantom II is featured in its first trailer.

With a rumoured piece count of 1,394 compared to 75053 The Ghost’s 929 elements, we’d like to see the additional ship included, unless those extra bricks go towards another feature.

3 – A bigger interior

The interior of 75053 The Ghost was limited due to the size of the set, leaving out the multiple rooms and other spaces within the Star Wars: Rebels ship. In a bigger build of The Ghost, the interior could be expanded.

While the rumoured piece count of 1,394 isn’t likely to be enough for a completely accurate interior, at least being able to sit minifigures side-by-side in the cockpit could be a notable upgrade.

2 – References

As 75053 The Ghost was released towards the start of Star Wars: Rebels, it doesn’t include a wealth of references to the series’ four-year run.

No matter the piece count, a new version of The Ghost released five years after the finale could include numerous references to the animated series, including some of Sabine’s graffiti.

1 – Compatibility with older sets

While the inclusion of The Phantom II would be appreciated, the ship already has a set in the form of 75170 The Phantom.

Rather than launching a new version of the ship, or the first Phantom, the rumoured 75357 The Ghost could include compatibility with previous Star Wars: Rebels models.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
