The results of a LEGO Ideas competition have been announced, confirming a future modular building-style gift-with-purchase.
The results of the LEGO Ideas City Life Creations – Design a Street Vendor competition have been announced, confirming a future GWP. Urban Face Sketcher, designed by ArchGian7, will be an official LEGO set down the line, featuring a street portrait artist inspired by Paris' Étienne Marceau.
The fan designer references Marceau in the description of their project, while recreating a LEGO-fied version of him in 200 pieces. The set includes an autumnal tree, an arched fence, and various portraits, as well as two minifigures sitting for a portrait as subject and artist.
The City Life Creations competition asked for designs for a set that would work well for a LEGO City or modular building GWP, and the size and scope would certainly suit previous modular building promotional sets, like the most recent, 40913 Vintage Parade Car.
The details of the GWP have not yet been made clear, and this fan-designed project will likely go through at least a few months' worth of development by professional LEGO designers to make sure it's ready to head out into the world, so it might be a while before it becomes available.
ArchGian7 will not only have their work turned into a GWP, but also win 10 complimentary copies of their LEGO Ideas set, credit and a bio as the LEGO Ideas fan designer in the set materials, and a copy of 10350 Tudor Corner.
The other 14 fan designers who made it to the Fan Vote will receive copies of 60469 Central Train Station, 10362 French Café, 60404 Burger Truck, and 60452 Donut Truck.
