New 76417 Gringotts Bank rumours detail the model’s unique structure

More details have surfaced regarding the rumoured LEGO Harry Potter Gringotts Bank set, as well as a tie-in gift with purchase.

According to a report from Brick Clicker, the highly-anticipated 76417 Gringotts Bank will indeed be compatible with 75978 Diagon Alley – something that’s been requested by fans since the latter set’s release.

76417 Gringotts Bank

Price: $429.99 Pieces: 4,807 Release date: September 1, 2023

Coming in at an impressive count of 4,807 pieces, Brick Clicker describes the model as being composed of two main sections: the bank itself and the subterranean minecart system. The bank can be placed on top of the mineshaft and displayed as one large structure, or the minecart system can be displayed separately and the bank can be attached to 75978 Diagon Alley.

The set reportedly includes 13 minifigures and a buildable Ironbelly Dragon, which is featured prominently in the Gringotts action scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Brick Clicker also reports that the minecarts can drop down into the rail system in a play feature, which suggests that minifigures will also be able to ride in the carts.

According to this report, 76417 Gringotts Bank will be hitting shelves in September and will cost $429.99, which is a high price but not unfair following traditional price-to-piece ratios. That said, 75978 Diagon Alley, Gringotts’ companion set, has nearly 1,000 more pieces and costs only 20 dollars more. Non-American prices have yet to be rumoured.

40598 Gringotts Vault

Pieces: 212 Release date: September 1, 2023

Brick Clicker’s report also mentions a Harry Potter gift with purchase releasing at the same time as the large Gringotts set, 40598 Gringotts Vault. There aren’t too many details about this set yet other than the piece count and the release, but it’s safe to assume that if you’re purchasing a copy of 76417 Gringotts Bank from LEGO stores or LEGO.com while this promo set is available, you’ll be receiving the Vault.

There aren’t any rumours yet regarding how long this promo will last, what its price threshold is, or if it’s restricted to only LEGO Harry Potter purchases. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as new information comes around.
